The challenge of holding things square and steady during gluing is one to which I rise. Clamps are good for tight spots like these inside shelf braces. I recently found these little, flex-jaw, locking clamps at Sears and I think they are way better than spring clamps. I can vary the pressure with these and get just the amount of hold that I need.

For squaring, clamping, and correcting warps at the same time, nothing else works but these magnets. Over three pounds of holding pressure each, so we can hold the sides up straight, square them at the top of the piece, and then add one more to flatten out the back. You can't see it in this picture, but my metal surface is actually the top of our washing machine :)
